What are you up to this weekend? We are just “knocking around,” as Alex says. I’m hoping he’ll make zucchini soup, and maybe we’ll watch a movie during the day, one of life’s great pleasures. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few fun links from around the web…

Paul Rudd reacts hilariously to being named the sexiest man alive. “I’m going to get business cards made.”

Looking forward to Mindy Kaling’s new HBO series.

Many readers raved about these cuties, and I couldn’t agree more!

A galette for all seasons.

Brooke Shields tells the story behind her famous 80’s Calvin Klein jeans ads.

How much would you love to take a train trip?

The easiest chicken dinner.

Does everyone look cute in these hats?

15 NYC kids on getting the vaccine. “I just feel, like, O.K., now I’m waiting for the next one so I can go see my cousins on Christmas.” (New Yorker)

LOVE how this book is changing its title.

Hi, I’m your best friend who can rationalize anything.” (New Yorker)

Great news: Dame is offering 15% off everything, including this game-changing wonder.

Plus, three reader comments:

Says Maryn on what do you eat the day after Thanksgiving: “One year, my brother layered Thanksgiving leftovers into a cup like it was a parfait. We all followed suit, and honestly, it was kind of amazing.”

Says Anne on are you friends with any older women: “I think the reason why I’ve never been scared of growing old is because of all the amazing older women I’ve known throughout my life. I remember having my childhood pastor stay with us during a snowstorm, with his mother and mother-in-law in tow. These ladies were in their upper 80’s/early 90’s and were flirting with my older brother, laughing hysterically, teaching us games, and making this snowstorm a blast. My sister and I gave up our beds for them and they left thank-you notes under the pillows, which made us feel so grown-up and like we were being acknowledged for our small sacrifice. I just love older ladies.”

Says Emma on what’s your relationship status: “Single AF but also feeling at peace about it for the first time — maybe ever! — in my 32 years. Twenty-five-year-old-me would have been texting all her old flames, looking for a feeling. Summer was a bit of a doozy for me this year, and since fall emerged, I’ve returned to myself in a way I can only explain as being in flow. I am grateful for my wise/kind/BEAUTIFUL friends and family, an apartment to myself that allows for hour-long midday baths and naked breakfast-making, and of course my girl pup, Robin, who is my first and longest soulmate thus far. I am hopeful for the future and whomever walks into it, because I feel at ease with the present. God bless a vibrator, though.”
