Storm surge, hurricane and tropical storm warnings issued earlier for the Mississippi and Louisiana coasts have been extended to the northern Gulf Coast to the Alabama/Florida border. For now, projections have Ida making landfall in Louisiana and western Mississippi, according to the NHC’s latest update.
